Hearty Hog’s Veterans BBQ Camp is a 501 (c) (3) founded in Tennessee in 2020. We teach the “Low and Slow” wood-fired techniques of BBQ as a therapeutic to Veterans suffering from Isolation, Trauma and Loss of Self/Purpose/Mission. Although our heroes’ hands will never forget the intimate connection with their service weapon, our goal is to help fill that void, utilizing offset BBQ smokers as a positive substitute. Many of the veterans who attended previous BBQ camps come back to serve as instructors and volunteers and network with other Alumni.
Our design features SGT HARDWOOD, a Marine Raider, that enjoys Smokin’ meat and cigars with his “Battle Buddies” when he isn’t Smokin’ the Enemies of Freedom. The design also incorporates our VBC Motto: CHANGING VETERANS LIVES THROUGH BBQ ! Our next Camp is OCT 12-15 near Chattanooga TN.
